AUSTRALIAN content is the focus of the new Internet portal OzNetwork.
The network's home page, at www.oznetwork.com.au, puts together news headlines, a TV program guide, stockmarket indexes, weather, stars and a search engine.
The portal has been developed by the founders of the Australian Internet guide OzSearch.
Chief executive Ross Koscharsky said there was a need for an online network that made Australian content its first priority.
`OzNetwork is a rebranded American portal,' he said. `It's a high-quality, home-grown product with a priority to deliver Australian-focused information and entertainment to its users.'
The OzNetwork homepage has links to other `Oz' sections including dating and e-mail, a radio guide, references, including an encyclopedia and a free home page `collective'.
