SOME had higher University Admission Indexes (UAI) than they expected, others were finding out if they could still do their preferred course after not achieving the score they hoped for.

The advice day at the University of Newcastle yesterday gave students the opportunity to reconsider their options after receiving their HSC.

About 700 prospective students talked through their options with faculty staff.

Others attended information sessions on fee-paying places, fee payment options, changing preferences and scholarships.

The information day will run again today in the Auchmuty Library between 9am and 6pm.
